Choosing the most appropriate engine for your new car is one of the most complicated decisions you will have to face in the buying process. An excessively powerful engine can be just as inappropriate as one with a smaller displacement. That is why special attention is always paid to this aspect, as well as to the type of fuel that we will choose. In this way, today I throw you a question: the Jeep Renegade, better diesel or gasoline? If you are thinking of buying the Jeep SUV, it is most likely that you are asking yourself these types of questions, even more so if we take into account the bad reputation that diesel cars are acquiring, as well as the rise in the price of diesel that is planned by the Government for the near future. Therefore, we are going to analyze the Renegade's range of engines, as well as indicate which is the most appropriate choice. Currently, the Jeep Renegade is available with nine different powertrains. If we start with the diesel units, we find five interesting options. Opening the range we have a 105 hp 1.6 Multijet II, an engine that is also offered with a little more power in the 120 hp 1.6 Multijet II. In addition, the ninth engine that makes up the range of the American SUV is an interesting alternative that will gradually gain prominence in these lines. We are talking precisely about the 120 hp 1.4 T-Bifuel that is powered by liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Once you upgrade the Renegade with Jeep Renegade led headlights, you would get a better view when driving. This efficient engine is only available with a six-speed manual gearbox that channels power to the front end. However, its approved average consumption is reduced to an interesting 5.1 liters per 100 kilometers. Let's talk numbers first. To choose the most appropriate engine for your new Jeep Renegade, it is important to talk about consumption and prices. We all want an efficient engine that allows us to save something when recharging the tank. As you may have imagined, my first recommendation will be the 120 hp Renegade 1.4 T-Bifuel LPG. The reasons are obvious, you can have it from 23,150 euros in the Sport and Longitude finishes and, although it is not the option that consumes the least, the price of LPG is less than 70 euro cents per kilogram. The autonomy is very similar to that offered by gasoline, but the price is reduced by half, which can help save a few cents. If you are reluctant to this alternative or you consider that the 120 hp 1.4 T-Bifuel falls a bit short, my second recommendation is the 140 hp 1.4 MultiAir gasoline. The choice of gearbox (manual or automatic) is left to you, but you can have it from 23,920 euros in the Longitude, Limited and Night Eagle II finishes. The approved average consumption of this engine increases to 6 liters, but you do not lose trunk capacity (351 liters), something that does happen in the LPG version (297 liters) because the gas tank is located under the floor. smoothie. Lastly, if you are one of those who are going to do so many kilometers a year that you will travel at least 30,000 a year, you may be more interested in a diesel engine, due to its ability to run at low revolutions, its higher level of torque and its somewhat more adjusted consumption than in gasoline. You also have the option of front or all-wheel drive, the latter only available for the 2.0 MultiJet II. Prices start at 22,290 and 28,320 euros, respectively.
